NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
In a significant crackdown on a counterfeit currency racket, the Narayanpur Police Station in Rajarhat has arrested two youths with fake currency notes. The arrests were made following a tip-off that a transaction involving counterfeit notes was taking place at the Azad Sporting Club ground. The quick action by the police has led to the apprehension of the two suspects and the seizure of a number of fake notes, though the total amount recovered is relatively small.
The operation was initiated after the police received a tip-off about suspicious activity at the Azad Sporting Club ground. Acting on the intelligence, a police team conducted a raid and apprehended Bhola Ali, a resident of Belgachia, and Rizvi Ahmed, also known as Rizwan, a resident of Narayanpur. The two were taken into custody on the spot.
Upon searching Bhola Ali, the police found six counterfeit notes in his possession. The discovery prompted a further search, this time at the home of Rizvi Ahmed. The search of Ahmed's residence led to the recovery of five more fake notes. Both individuals were subsequently arrested, and a case has been registered against them at the Narayanpur Police Station.
The total number of fake notes recovered is 11, but the police believe this is just the tip of the iceberg. The primary focus of the investigation now is to determine the extent of their network. The police are trying to figure out if the two youths are part of a larger, more organized gang and, more importantly, where they are getting the counterfeit notes from.
The police have stated that a thorough investigation is underway. They will be interrogating the two accused to gather more information about their contacts and the source of the fake currency. This is a crucial step in tracing the trail of the racket and apprehending the main operators.
